All Blacks and the Pumas - 25-19 Go the Blacks !!!
New Zealand had to defend their line for the final stages of the match, but Argentina failed to break the black wall and grab their first ever win over the All Blacks.
The All Blacks outscored the home side three tries to one, with Leon MacDonald, Dan Carter and Scott Hamilton crossing over, but conceded too many penalties gifting Argentina's first-five eighth Federico Todeschini with eight penalty attempts.
Luckily for the visitors Todeschini only converted half of those attempts. A better day with the boot could have meant a different result for New Zealand.
Argentina opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a Todeschini penalty before Dan Carter got New Zealand on the board three minutes later with a penalty making it 3-3.
The All Blacks scored the opening try of the match in the 11th minute when the backs had their first chance to spread the ball wide.
Rico Gear made a run down the right hand touchline before passing inside to Isaia Toeava who was tackled 10 metres short of the line. But from the ensuing maul, Leon MacDonald snuck down the blindside to score in the corner.
We can whip ass when we want to, I think we'd be able to beat a team blind folded, intoxicated and both arms tied behind our backs and still have time after the game to take on the rest of the world.............Well thats a bit ominous.............well what dya expect, the ALL BLACKS rule Rugby.....Fabotastic Kiwi Magic !!!

The Evening
Well here I am all ready for the Ball. It was amazing !! The evening started with a nice tall glass of my favorite red wine. At 630pm received a text to say my limo was waiting at the end of the drive. Jumped onto my carriage(cable car), it was raining, the carriage has no roof, so had to use an umbrella. My shaperone greeted me with a glass of champagne, wow....flabbergasted !! It was a smooth ride to the hotel. More champagne greeted as we arrived. We mingled and got to know each other a little better as we all worked for CCDHB, just different departments. Everyone looked amazing !!
We had a 3 course meal, smoked salmon platter, and in the picture above is Turkey with Cranberry sausage, very unusual combination, but it tasted devine !! Waiters and Waitresses contantly filling our glasses with champagne. For dessert was Kapiti ice-cream on Steam pudding and vanilla custard....there goes another 1000 calories. Gawd !! We had a DJ and the music he played was fantastic !! The evening was an evening to remember. Limo picked us up outside the hotel. The Ball was a blast.... !! Yes the Ball....

Cinderella or Cinderfella.....?
Well heres a quick look at my dress I'm wearing tomorrow evening. I think the colour in this pic makes it look shocking pink. Cat, my flatmate, wanted to take pics of me without all the hair up and the make-up on. Oookkk fine. The weather here is cold and its not like its summer where I can wear a dress like this out. So there will be layers and layers of clothing going on top of that outfit before I leave the house. Its held in a b'ful hotel in the middle of Wellington, with gorgeous views overlooking the harbour and Oriental Bay. Anyway I'm gonna have a great time and treated like a princess all evening before it turns midnight and I turn into an old hag again. I'll post some pics in here with all that stuff on a couple days after the ball.

Land of the Long White Cloud - NZ -
With vast open spaces filled with stunning rugged landscapes, gorgeous beaches, often spectacular geothermal and volcanic activity, a temperate climate and fascinating animal and plant life, and its no surprise that NZ’s pure natural environment is so attractive to visitors from other countries. And you know what we have that no other country has, many different landscapes, environments and ecosystems so close to each other. My country is dominated by 2main geographical features – the mountains and the sea.
Weather
Rainfall is and evenly spread through the year. As well as producing areas of stunning native forest, high rainfall makes NZ an ideal place for farming and horticulture.
Summer months are December to March. Days are long and sunny, nights are mild. Perfectly serene and the omnipitence of god couldn't make the night skies any perfect then they are already
Autumn between the end of March and May. While temperatures are a little cooler then summer, the weather can be excellent and it is still possible to go swimming in clear mirror like lakes and rivers
Winter June through to August, bring colder weather to much of the country. Mountain ranges in both islands become snow covered, providing beautiful vistas and excellent skiing.
Spring lasts from Sept to Novemeber and the spring weather can range from cold and frosty to warm and hot. During spring buds, blossoms and other new growth bursts throughout the country and new born lambs frolic in the fields just before dusk.

Look at the mount now....SPECTACULAR !!
A couple months ago my friend and I went to Tongoriro on our way back from touring the middle of the north Island. We took a ride to the top of Whakapapa and at that time there was no snow around, as u can see from the picture on the left. Volcanic rock, we couldn't imagine snow covering the rock we were standing on. It was like something out of mars, actually it looked like mars very unusual. Now the snow has settled in on the mountain and well look for yourself. It is absolutely gorgeous !!
How can something so ugly, yes ugly and pointy, arid and rigid, turn into something so beautiful, I guess u can compare this with the "ugly duckling".........
Nature at its absolute best......

Giving up on Love...
For a couple of my friends that are going thru a really bad time at the moment....Luv ya guyz !!
Giving up doesn't alwayz mean u r weak, sometimes it means u r strong enuf to let go....
Relationships are like glass, sometimes its better to leave them broken, then try to hurt yourself putting it back together...Maybe part of loving is learning to let go...I never knew until that moment how bad it could hurt to lose something I never really had. So I end this in saying ... it takes a minute to like someone, an hour to love someone, but to forget someone takes a lifetime....

Food
My flatemate, Cat (Catherine) cooked a wonderful Chinese meal tonite. Pork Potato and Mince Egg. Just devine, with a glass of soft Pinot went down superb !! Its amazing how she can whip up a meal in a matter of minutes. Delishimo.... !! Catherine is Chinese, the difference between a Chinese take out and a home made Chinese dinner, is the difference in taste. The spices and herbs she puts into her meals, I cannot describe !! Hey Cat, so whats on the menu tomorrow night.....hahaha. Thanx for dinner. Oh it set a spectacular night for the rugby....The All Blacks beat Ireland yet again.... !! Go the Blacks !!!

Tour your own backyard you maybe surprised
The best holiday ever !!
In April I decided to take a break. So I toured the North Island with a friend. We travelled to places like Gisborne, Mt Maunganui, The Coromandel, Cathedral Cove, Rotorua, Taupo and National Park. We had a very momorable travel experience through places I didn't know existed. Me being a New Zealander, born and bred...have travelled to the Western World hadn't even seen my own country.... Travelling through the Northern part of NZ with my friend from another country was more of an adrenalin rush for me then it was for him. Scenic drives and walks were breathtaking. These are my 2 favorite pictures. Mt Ruapehu and the sun setting at Lake Taupo. Untouched Eden I live in.
I wonder sometimes how lucky I am to belong to a geographical isolated paradise.
So proud to be a KIWI GAL !!

Is it worth the effort and time....???
Of all the rituals of working life, the anuual torture of the performance appraisal stands out as the most useless and time-consuming. True, an apparaisal is better than no feedback. But not as a quicksand of unquantifiable HR buzz words, bureaucratic forms and boxes to be ticked. It's no surprise that no one comes out of them learning anything new about themselves. Usually when an organisation says "Our people are our greatest asset" pffftt you can believe it about as much as " The customer is always right". Appraisals need revamping. They are a lose-lose proposition. Employees hate them becuase they're useless, and managers despise them, hmmm me, because they are usually ill prepared for giving them and, besides, they have too many other things to do. 2 long weeks of preparation, interviewing, late night reccommendations etc etc. I've finally completed this long haul of wasted time. Well thats how I feel anyway.

Alcohol is good for ya.....
"Well ya see, Lani it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of red suculant wine eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few pinots."
"So Lani, more Vellito, "absolutely",
"Another Pinot Nat", "oh yea". !!

Enjoying Time to Myself
Its Sunday evening just got back from a surprise b'day party. It was nice. Lots of people, wonderful food, great music and nice wine. Got an invitation to dinner....wow. I think I may have to hide in my house. I've never had so many ivites to dinners, coffee's, movies and a b'day party....OMG !! Arrrh well....Its nice to be needed and to meet new friends and spend a little time with them. Well its getting late and CSI is on. Looking forward to another busy week....ET !! IS IT FRIDAY YET !!! Have a nice one.....
Cuzzins....
This is a picture of my nephew and my son. Tip on the left and his cuzzin Matt over on holiday from England. They are both the same age. We had to laugh at this pic. Tip towering over his cuzzin. Tip stands at 6ft2 and wee Matt 5ft8...... I had to tell Matt that we kiwi's breed our boys big here. He's an avid football fan, typical English boy, where as Tips life revolves around rugby, basketball and cricket. We took him to a game of rugby, his words were, I would just hand the ball to them and run in the opposite direction....hilarious !! We were watching an under 11 game...he couldn't believe the size of the kids even at that age. :-) He leaves for home tomorrow, back to the airport again....gawd !! He wants to stay in NZ...He totally loves it here, apart from Rotorua... hahaha....can't get use to the smell....what a crack up !! Its been absolutely great having you here Matt. Have a wonderful trip back to the other side of the world !! Hugs...love aunty Nat

Sons B'day bash...
Friday evening and just got back from dinner. Went for Yum Char, it was very nice!! Not as nice as my flatmates cooking tho. She's Chinese and she makes these amazing dishes. I had a very nice glass of Pinot to go with the food. The occassion was to celebrate my sons b'day. There were 14 of us at dinner, including my grandson. He was the perfect wee baby. Awwww so cute !! I didn't so much enjoy the food, there was too much of it. It was enjoyable but can't beat a good chile, Thai or curry.....I left a little early to take Tip to basketball. Decided not to return. I had, had a busy week at work and just didn't feel like a late night. So I excused myself and left with my son. Happy b'day to my eldest son, many happy returns darling !!
Winter Ball
C&CDHB Winter Ball.
Well I'm looking forward to the ball this year. I bought this dress. Its gorgeous. The last time I went to a ball was a few years ago altho I have been to a lot of formal dinner/dances except theres a difference, theres no 2 or 3 day seminars attached to this ball. I haven't worn red before and when I tried this dress on, it looked absolutely stunning !! Figure hugging and dropped b'fully down to my ankles. The dress was hand made in Cambodia, every stitch sewn to perfection. It has a red embossing across the bust line
with a fine silk fabric on the lower part (lined),falling in a series of drops about full length. Now what accessories to wear with it....silver (my favorite) or gold. I'm 5ft 11, so I'd only need medium heel shoes, black or red? I have 2 weeks. Now the question on your mind is? Who's Nat going to the ball with........hmmm.....Prince Charming of course..... I'll post some pictures after the ball. Well a before and after shot......tee hee !!!

Time out....
Work - Decided to take a little time out from a very busy week. Kerry works for me, very hard worker. I start work at 7am, just lately a little earlier as I have quite a bit to do. Finishing a little later. Performance Appraisals driving me nuts, but hey they have to be done. Working in communications is a challenge, but I thrive on challenges. Organising a conference for all DHB Call Centre/Contact Centre Emergency Communications Units is progressing slowly thanks to the help of my PA whose now left the country to greener pastures. I'm finding it particularly difficult to find time for myself. So try not to bring work home, but sometimes I need to so is to meet deadlines. Its Wednesday evening 1030pm, I've just finished another couple of Appraisals along with a little studying. Feeling a little shattered, but am relaxing watching Final Destination. So I'm gonna end this and fall asleep watching it.
Reason - Season - Lifetime
Reason - Season - Lifetime
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.! LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Our Fab Night Out.....!!
Jen and Nat......
My best friend and I spent an amazing night together while I was on a business trip in Auckland. It was a night for J & N...She was over from London visiting her family. We met at the Marytimes Museum. We had a bitta time to spare so went to a bar that overlooked the harbour. It was amazing !! Lovely warm day, outside on the balcony over the water...it was gorgeous. We both love wine and knowing I had a business meeting the following day didn't stop me from drinking a tasty pinot noir. Jen had something surprisingly amazing in store for me. We set off to our next destination...hmmmm I wonder...she led me into this bizaar open kinda shop thing. To the left of me were thick furry boots, and woolley coats, gloves and socks. Quite confused, she asked me to sit there and don't move. The next thing we were putting on the boots, coats, socks and gloves....OOookkk. We were then led into a bloody freezer stocked with a bar made of ice, ice statues, ice seats, ice glasses. It was bloody COLD!! Even with the outfits we had on I could still feel the cold. I asked the barman how cold it was in here. He said, minus 15 degrees. I wanted out...noooo. Well not after the cocktail I was handed. OMG..it was the best ever. We both had 3 each and were only to stay in the freezer for 25mins. I was warming up pretty good by now. We took photo's it was fab !! It was time to leave, we both walked out of the freezer and the heat that hit us...woooohoooo !! Bloody AWESOME !! We were famished so we decided to walk, waddle, trip over to a Thai restaurant. That ended the night just right. A bottle of red and b'ful Thai meal. Hey Jen, a night I will never forget !! Thank you so much for the awesome wee gift, our photo together in a bloody big refridgerator....Hugs and luv ya lots !!

We've had our ups and downs...teenagers, sometimes ya wish they were still babies. There are so many temptations for teenage kids these days u wonder sometimes how u as a parent can contend with such things as drugs and alcohol, gangs, prostitution etc...u can only guide them u can't lead them to water and make them drink it. My advice is to let them know how much u love them and that u will always be there for them without a doubt. Support them in what ever they do !! Theres not a day that goes by where I have never told my children that I don't love them....its amazing what that word LOVE means to a child....Very strong word to have in this day and age...

My View from Home
I live in a b'ful city. Not the biggest city in NZ as it being the Capital. I love where I live. In a wonderful old cottage which overlooks the beach. I don't want to leave here but I must one day. Hopefully not too soon. The house I live in was recently viewed in a movie. A horror movie. The house is seperated in 3 seperate apartments, flats. I live in the 2 bedroom flat. Its cropped in the middle of a hill. 133 stairs to the house or take the cable car. It has a walkway toward the back of the house. Great walk and wonderful scenic views. The house also overlooks the airport. The walks along the beach is spectacular. I don't do evening walks too often tho. In the winter you can see the snow on the tops of the hills. So I guess I don't have to go anywhere to see the mountains in the winter and the beaches in the summer. I have it all at my feet, as they say. The photo you see here is taken at 7am, sun rising...AMAZING !!
Rugby Finals...SUX !!
Rugby Super 14
The finals were held in Christchurch. Hurricanes (Wellington)vs Crusaders(Christchurch). What a game....hmmm what I saw of it. A blanket of fog covered the field. There was an eerie feeling about the whole shibangle. Quite bizaar ! The game continued. Figure this, your watcing the game and you can't see a thing, your squinting, your getting really pissed off, even the wine your drinking doesn't seem to be working, your hoping and praying that the fog would lift by half time, your wishing that they would use a helicopter to help get rid of the mist, there's a try, your yelling which team got it, the 48inch flat screen is in your face, all of a sudden theres a roar from the crowd in the stands, who the hell got the try....the commentator yells Crusaders in the lead......Its getting worse, your attitude begins to change, boredom sets in.....People around you are getting very upset...What the hell you have had enuf and you walk out !! The night is ruined by this mysterious cloud of thick fog !! especially when you find out your team has lost........... 'Bloody Ell'

It seems like only yesterday my son was born. He's just become a dad and I a nanna. WOW !! It doesn't seem real. I had my son at 20, one month before my 21st b'day. I was married in May 1984 - My son was born June 9th 1984 - I had my 21st July 24th 1984. So this is my first grandchild, Tamati Eru William Hault-Friday. I will see him until he's 2months old then he will be leaving me and going to Liverpool to live in July. They made the bookings to leave on my b'day. How thoughtful huh. I am so proud to be a nanna to such a gorgeous boy !! I know my mum and dad will be so proud of their great grandson. If they were here today, I know there would be no way my son will be taking their first great grandchild outta the country. Anyway I have to support their decision and wish them the very best for the future. It looks like I will be making a lot of trips to Europe....I will miss them both. Isn't it funny I have this love for my grandson that I've never experienced before...I can't describe it. Kia kaha mo matou tinana Tamati....Hugs and kisses from nanna !!!
