B'day Blues and Surprises

Well it was my b'day last week and the day my son and grandson left for the UK. Those that have kept up with this blog will know that, that day was not going to be a day I was looking forward to. But I got thru it and it turned out that it ended pretty nice. I didn't want to know I was turning another year older. I think we all tend to wish that it would disappear quickly.
Anyway the morning was lovely, the day was b'ful and the ocean view from my window put a calming affect over me. I knew what was in store for me and for a moment I forgot about the following events that was to happen later in the day.
I went down to the house to spend the last few hours with my grandson, cuddled and hugged him for a while. Thinking this could be the last time for a few years so treasured the time I had with him. A tear rolled down my cheek and onto his.....its a love that I can't explain.....My heart just so full of him...more tears !! His mum and my son, surprised me with a b'ful framed photo of him. "Happy B'day mum", more hugs and kisses...WOW !! As I saw my son leave with his son and partner, I smiled. Altho deeply, deeply sadened by it all, I still managed to smile !!
I went home and watched the plane fly out. I hugged the framed photo of my grandson and made a space on my bedroom wall for the picture. I opened the mail and the parcel I recieved at my doorstep. A couple of bills and a few b'day cards. The parcel was 2 bottles of pinot noir from an admirer. That was great !! But this was the biggest surprise of the day, it really made my b'day a wonderful ending to an emotional one. I left the house and jumped on the cable car. I could see at the bottom of the hill, a man standing with a surf board. I wondered why he was staring up at me. Reached the bottom and he asked if I was in flat 1, I replied in saying yes I was. He then pulled his other arm out behind his back, and gave me a half a dozen roses....OMG, I said, those for me, he said if your Nat, they certainly are...Well I said, aren't those gorgeous, I don't even know you and your showering me with roses....I said its my b'day, he handed me the roses and started singing happy b'day to me....I laughed, he said they were delivered to the wrong address, with that he ran over to the beach. Honestly the day ended superbly !! But that wasn't the end of that, my ex flatemate came over later in the evening, with her veletto and we had a few sips, no, glasses, no, no, the carton of red (that was suggested by a very close friend) to finish off a lovely day. The aroma of those roses fills my room with an amazing scent !! Thanx so much for the roses !!

To err is human--and to blame it on a computer is even more so.
